I want to find my fourth graders to the definitions in their textbooks, instead of my letter of the definition for them. Sometimes the definition is written in the text as glossery or dictionary. What is the best way to teach them to look to the definition of a word for themselves? Any suggestions would be great. BTW, I am a teacher of six weeks of age (in other words, a rookie teacher), so ya'll (sorry, I live in Oklahoma), the overall experience for me.
