Lindsay is absolutely correct.

Herpes is spread through skin contact with the skin. To your genitals. his genitals someone else apply the genitals or mouth.

The virus can not live long outside the human body. When was your parternes an outbreak of herpes, get knocked (in contact with serious injuries), and directly touched her genitals, you can catch him. But it would be very unusual for genital herpes.

Be clear that we speak of "genital herpes" not HSV2. A positive test for HSV2 usually mean genital herpes, HSV2, but to also infect the mouth. And you can HSV1 (herpes virus that usually affects the mouth) on your genitals. But any tension in the genitals, "genital herpes" and is almost always spread by genital contact.

Good question.

Not really. Herpes does not live long on objects or body more than a few seconds. The possibility exists, however, that if you used a wet towel right after someone with genital herpes do not know what might be possible. Herpes is usually the result when an area like the mouth or genital contact with a blister or open sore herpes.
